John Kanyi is the Senior Regional Business Development and Grants Manager who works within the pre and post award cycle of HJFMRI awards. He collaborates with Home Office BD and Strategic Initiatives to develop new proposals and manage current relationships within the Global Operations efforts. He has over 15 years of experience of end-to-end administration of USG, EU, and other donor-funded projects, that is; pre- and post-award management of contracts, grants, and project operations, to project closeouts. 

John previously worked with several US based contractors in managing grants of up to $100M such as Land O Lakes Inc./Ventures 37, Fintrac Inc., CHF International/Global Communities, Counterpart International and others. He has built capacity to over 200 subgrantees with their finance and grant managers to advance stewardship in Sub Saharan Africa. 

He holds an MBA in Project Management from Kenyatta University, and an MSc in International Business Management from University of East London. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, Certified Federal Contract Manager, and a Project Management Professional.
